We’re proud to announce that Dan John has officially re-signed with Exeter Chiefs, continuing his journey at Sandy Park and reaffirming his commitment to one of the top clubs in English rugby.
As Dan’s representatives, we at Engage are thrilled to see him take this next step with a club that has played a key role in his development. This new contract signals not only the club’s belief in Dan’s talent and versatility but also Dan’s belief in the long-term project at Exeter – a squad full of emerging talent, ambition, and unity.
Dan’s rugby journey has never followed a typical script. From his formative years playing rugby in Hong Kong, to making a name for himself at Millfield School, and later earning a spot in the Chiefs Academy, he’s been carving his own path with resilience, humility, and no shortage of talent.
Since arriving in Exeter ahead of the 2020/21 season, Dan has continued to grow – both as a player and as a person. From winning the BUCS Championship with the University of Exeter to lifting the Premiership Rugby Cup in 2023, he’s shown he’s capable of performing on the biggest stages. And despite setbacks due to injury, his commitment to coming back stronger has never wavered.
With his ability to cover multiple backline positions, a smart kicking game, and a calm head under pressure, Dan brings valuable depth to the squad. But more importantly, he brings character – and that’s something both the Chiefs and ourselves value deeply.
“I’m really excited to enjoy another season with the boys,” Dan said. “It’s a pleasure to re-sign with such a great club. I’ve spent a lot of years here now, so I’m delighted to stay.”
We believe this new deal comes at just the right moment in Dan’s career. He’s worked incredibly hard behind the scenes and is now poised to kick on, injury-free and ready to contribute more consistently in a Chiefs jersey.
We’d like to thank Exeter Chiefs – and in particular Rob Baxter and his team – for their continued faith in Dan and the strong relationship we’ve built together.
This isn’t just a re-signing. It’s the next chapter in a journey we’re incredibly proud to be a part of.
Here’s to Dan’s continued growth, health, and success on and off the pitch.
