A GLITZY CELEBRATION OF WELSH CULTURE ON LONDON’S ICONIC PARK LANE
Wales Week London is the largest annual showcase of activities and events that celebrate and promote everything that is great about Wales.
The Best of Wales Gala Night is an impressive black-tie event during the Wales Week London fortnight that brings together Welsh organisations and WWL partners & stakeholders to celebrate the very best of Welsh culture, sport and heritage.
The brief was to showcase the best talent Wales has to offer, with performances and appearances from well-known Welsh artists, athletes and influential figures.
What we did
We produced this event from start to finish, including event branding, event production, logistics, bookings, fundraising model and the sourcing of artists and performers.
The event
A glamorous celebration that began with a champagne reception in the Park Lane Suites before doors opened and guests were invited to the Ballroom.
Host for the evening, Lauren Salter, opened the night and introduced a powerful 3-song medley by Welsh male voice supergroup, Only Men Aloud, before guests enjoyed a delectable 3-course meal. Spanish-Welsh comedian Ignacio Lopez brought the laughs with a stand-up comedy set that had the room enthralled, before Lauren compere’d an insightful sporting Q&A with British Olympic Sprinter Christian Malcolm, former Wales Rugby International and Captain Ellis Jenkins, and the Welsh fast bowler behind England’s 2005 Ashes win, Simon Jones.
A live & silent auction raised funds for Welsh charities: St David’s Hospice and Greenman Trust.
