Brad Thyer extends contract with the Blues
Thyer has signed contract to remain at his home region.
Since making his debut during the 2014-15 season, the 26-year-old loose-head prop has become a hugely valuable member of the first-team squad and now has 62 appearances under his belt.
Thyer is said to be pleased to agree new terms with the Blues and develop his carreer as a competitive front-row.
Thyer said; “I’m extremely happy to sign a new deal with my home region. I have progressed through the age-grades and spent the last few years training and playing with so many good friends.
“There’s superb competition in the front-row and that is only a positive for any player’s development. The opportunity, in recent years, to learn from such experienced players like Gethin Jenkins, Matthew Rees and Taufa’ao Filise has helped me to get where I am.
“I’m now excited about the future with the group of players we have here and continuing to work hard with my teammates and coaches to continue my development.”
Blues Coach, Mulvihill said: “Brad has really impressed me this season. His determination and work ethic is second to none and he continually strives to improve all elements of his game.
“Technically he is one of our best set-piece players and his work, on both sides of the ball, has really improved this season.
“Brad has set himself some big targets and I have every confidence that there are big things ahead of him if he continues to commit himself as he does.”
